Adoptive parenting

Adoptive parenting begins with a rupture — someone's loss, someone's impossible circumstance — and asks love to grow from that ground. The adoptive parent who can hold the fullness of their child's story, including the parts that precede them, gives the child permission to be whole. Belonging does not require erasing where someone came from.
