PRAIY LLC, doing business as Periagoge (“Periagoge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates a family of AI-guided coaching platforms, including Hypatia and Aurelius (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have. We built the Service to help people lead more examined lives — not to harvest or monetize their personal information.

We collect the following categories of personal information, from you directly unless noted:

We use your personal information to:

• Provide the Service and deliver personalized coaching, plans, and content;
• Remember context across your sessions so your coaching builds on itself;
• Process your subscription and send transactional messages (billing, security, and coaching check-ins that are part of the Service you signed up for);
• Keep the Service safe — detecting fraud, abuse, and content that violates our Community & Content Policy, and responding to safety risks such as a member in crisis;
• Understand, in de-identified and aggregate form, what helps people, so we can improve coaching for everyone;
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you requested); legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, balanced against your rights); consent (for optional marketing and certain cookies, which you may withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (to meet our legal duties).

3. What we will never do

These commitments are core to the Service, not marketing copy:

• We will never sell your personal information for money or other valuable consideration.
• We will never “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
• We will never use your coaching content to advertise or market to you, or to target you with upsells. What you disclose in coaching stays in service of your coaching.
• We will never use your identifiable content to train third-party or foundation AI models. See Section 5.

4. How your information is shared

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only in these limited ways:

We use a small set of vendors to operate the Service. They may process your information only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:

Legal & safety

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of you, us, or others — for example, in an imminent risk of harm.

Business transfers

If Periagoge is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you and any successor will remain bound by commitments no less protective than this Policy.

5. AI and your coaching content

Your coach is an AI system powered by a large language model. When you converse with your coach, your messages are sent to our AI provider to generate a response, and we store your session history so your coaching has memory and continuity.

• We do not sell or disclose your coaching content for advertising.
• We do not use your identifiable content to train third-party or foundation models. Our AI provider does not train its models on your inputs or outputs under our commercial agreement.
• When we improve our own coaching over time, we learn from de-identified, aggregated patterns — the shape of what works — never your words tied to your identity.
• You can request that we clear your session history or delete your account (Section 11).

6. Sensitive information

Coaching sometimes involves information that is sensitive by nature — about your health, sex life, religious or philosophical beliefs, or precise state of mind. We treat this information with heightened care. We collect it only because you choose to share it in the course of coaching, we use it only to provide and secure the Service, and we do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you for advertising or any purpose other than those described in this Policy. Under California law, you may limit our use of sensitive personal information; because we already restrict it to these permitted purposes, no further limitation is necessary, but you may contact us with any request.

7. Cookies, analytics & session recording

Strictly necessary cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, to secure the Service, and to remember your privacy choices (including your analytics consent). These are always on because the Service cannot function without them; no consent is required for them. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.

Analytics and session recording. To understand how the product is used and to improve it, we use first-party product analytics and session recording through PostHog and Microsoft Clarity. Session recording reconstructs how pages are used (clicks, navigation, and scrolling); we configure it to mask the content you type, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. These analytics and the cookies they set are non-essential.

Your choice in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, these non-essential analytics and session-recording cookies are off by default. When you first visit, we ask for your consent through a banner, and nothing non-essential loads — and no such cookies are set — unless and until you accept. You can decline, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing the choice in your browser (or by contacting us); the necessary cookies are unaffected. Elsewhere, these analytics are enabled by default, and you can opt out as described below.

Controlling cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function without the necessary ones.

Global Privacy Control. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC). Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect — but we treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out request regardless.

8. How long we keep it

• We keep your account and coaching data for as long as your account is active, so your coaching retains continuity.
• You can request deletion of your account and erasure of your personal information at any time — from your account settings or by emailing notices@periagoge.ai (see Section 11). We will act on your request and process it in accordance with applicable law and within the timeframes it requires (see Section 11). When we carry out an erasure, we remove or irreversibly anonymize your personal information in our active systems; copies in routine backups then expire within 90 days, and information shared with our processors is subject to their retention schedules.
• We retain limited records where the law requires it (for example, billing and tax records, typically up to 7 years), or where needed to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
• De-identified and aggregated data, which can no longer be linked to you, may be retained to improve the Service.

9. How we protect it

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls (including database row-level security that isolates your records), least-privilege access for staff, and multi-factor authentication on administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this responsibility seriously and continually improve our safeguards. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law. See our Trust & Security page for more.

10. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), together with additional measures where needed.

11. Your rights & choices

Subject to your location and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you, and export a portable copy;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Delete your information (“right to be forgotten”);
• Restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither) and of targeted advertising (we do none);
• Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

How to exercise them. Email notices@periagoge.ai. We will verify your request by reference to your account, respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days under CCPA, extendable once; one month under GDPR), and let you know if we need more time. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

12. California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in Section 11, including to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not and will not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted and described here. We have not sold or shared personal information, or used it for cross-context behavioral advertising, in the preceding 12 months. The categories we collect, our purposes, and the parties we disclose to are described in Sections 1, 2, and 4. To exercise your rights, contact notices@periagoge.ai. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

13. EEA / UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, PRAIY LLC is the controller of your personal information. Our legal bases are described in Section 2. You have the rights in Section 11, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). You may contact us about data-protection matters at notices@periagoge.ai.

14. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. Where GDPR applies, users must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in their country) unless a parent or guardian consents. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact notices@periagoge.ai and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where required, notify you by email or in the Service. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
