Nervous system regulation

The nervous system is the physiological substrate through which all psychological experience flows — its states of activation, immobilization, or social engagement are the body's continuous emotional commentary. Regulation is not the elimination of activation but the capacity to move fluidly between states without becoming trapped in any single one. Practices targeting the vagus nerve, breath, and embodied awareness directly address the regulatory system at its roots.
