The true price includes all these realities, even when invisible at checkout. This knowledge is uncomfortable—it reveals our complicity and complicates consumption. Yet Sor Juana teaches that truth, however difficult, is necessary for justice. By knowing the true costs, we make genuinely informed choices and recognize our responsibility to those bearing the hidden burden.
