Why It Matters

The Tao Te Ching opens: the Tao that can be named is not the eternal Tao. Water flows around obstacles without resistance. Digital culture changes perpetually, yet FOMO treats each shift as a threat to stability. You spiral trying to catch up, learn new platforms, understand new trends. Resistance to change is the source of this suffering. Laozi would advise flowing with the river of culture rather than building dams against it. This doesn't mean mindless adoption but rather non-resistance—acknowledging that you cannot and should not master every platform, trend, or format. Some will pass. Some you'll join. Some you'll miss. This is the nature of a changing world. By flowing with unavoidable change instead of fighting it, you paradoxically become more adaptable. You stop the exhausting pretense of control. You move lightly through the digital landscape, taking what serves, leaving what doesn't, without shame. This acceptance is profoundly freeing: change is constant, your resistance is futile, but your flow can be graceful.
