Returning to Source Energy Model

Laozi teaches that all things return to their source, and wisdom lies in recognizing origin. Conventional data centers exist where real estate and connectivity are cheap, often far from energy generation. Power transmission across distances wastes 5-15% of energy; additionally, facilities cannot optimize for available renewable energy far from its source. Returning to source means placing data centers at hydroelectric dams, wind farms, solar installations, or geothermal sources. This alignment means computational work naturally follows energy availability rather than forcing power to flow against geography. Iceland positions facilities near geothermal heat; Brazil near hydro sources; Morocco near solar arrays. This return to origin reduces transmission loss, enables waste heat recovery from power generation, and synchronizes processing intensity with energy abundance. The Taoist principle recognizes that separation from source creates inefficiency; data centers that return to their energy origins operate with inherent efficiency impossible when disconnected from their power foundation.
