Pornography platforms mirror and magnify natural sexual curiosity, loneliness, and escapism. By viewing these systems as mirrors rather than masters, one gains agency: the platform isn't controlling you; it's reflecting what you're already drawn toward. This reframes the problem from external addiction to internal awareness. The digital age makes this harder because platforms deliberately obscure their persuasive mechanisms, presenting themselves as neutral tools. Taoist wisdom suggests accepting the mirror's reflection—understanding what your engagement reveals about your current state—as the first step toward intentional choice rather than reactive consumption.
