I can deploy to the cloud. Why can't I design it?

You can follow instructions. Deploy this, configure that, click here. That part you have already mastered — do not pretend otherwise. Architecture is a different act. No one hands you the steps. You must choose — this database or that one, more servers or fewer — and stand behind the choice with no one confirming it in advance. There is no tutorial for judgment. This is not a knowledge gap. Read ten more books on cloud design and you will still freeze at the first real decision. What you are missing is practice deciding, and the will to decide before you feel ready.
