Knowledge + Guidance

We have all this team data — what should we actually ask it?

You gathered the data because someone said you should. Now it sits there, and you feel the lack — not of numbers, but of nerve to ask it something real. This is not a data problem. It is a problem of not knowing what you actually want to decide. A team that will not name its real question hides behind analysis. You call it exploring. It is delay. The data cannot tell you what matters to you — that choice is yours, and no dashboard will make it for you. So stop surveying the data as if it were a stranger to be studied. Interrogate it as a witness to a decision you already sense you must make.

The team needs a little framework for turning data into questions, but mostly needs to be pushed to name the real decision they're avoiding and act on it together.

What’s really going on

You do not need more data. You need one honest question, chosen together, that you actually intend to act on. Pick the decision you are avoiding, ask what the data says about that, and ignore the rest until it is answered.

A moveGather the pod and each person writes down one decision about your people that you're avoiding — not a curiosity, a decision.
A moveRead them aloud. Choose the one that makes the room uncomfortable. That is your real question.
A moveState the decision as a question the data could actually answer — not 'what's going on with engagement' but 'should we change who leads this team.'
A moveAssign one person to bring back only what answers that question, nothing else, within a week.
A moveWhen the answer comes back, decide something before the meeting ends. Do not schedule another meeting to discuss discussing it.
