Where do our decisions end and the AI's work begin?

You sit down with the tool and something good comes out. You are not sure how much of it is yours. Your team feels the same — nobody wants to claim credit they did not earn, and nobody wants to hide work they did do. This is not the death of your craft. It is the absence of a record. Craft was always a set of decisions — what to keep, what to cut, what to demand again. The tool has not taken those decisions from you. You have simply stopped writing them down, even in your own mind. Find the decisions again and the craft returns with them. This is not something you learn once. It is something you practice, and it goes faster when others can check your account against theirs.

What’s really going on

The line is not blurred — you stopped drawing it. Craft is the decision, not the words on the page. Whatever you did not choose, the machine chose for you. Name the decisions you and your team actually made. Do that, and the line reappears exactly where it always was.

A moveAfter the tool produces something, mark every place you kept it, changed it, or threw it out. Those marks are your craft.

A moveKeep a shared log for one week. Each day, write down one thing you decided and one thing the tool merely produced.
