Why does every weekday feel exactly the same?

Nasreddin once painted every door in the village the same white, so the postman would never get confused. It worked beautifully. Six months later the postman got lost anyway — and so did half the villagers — because no door looked like anyone's home anymore. Your week is doing the same thing. Monday through Friday, same shape, same meetings, same everything, all in the name of not confusing anyone. It works. And now nobody can tell you what happened on Tuesday, because Tuesday doesn't exist — there's only "this week," one long gray corridor. The fix isn't to make every day exciting. It's to paint one or two doors a different color, on purpose, and agree as a pod to notice them.

What’s really going on

Sameness isn't the enemy — unmarked sameness is. Pick one or two days your pod agrees will look different from the rest, on purpose. Not exciting, just distinguishable. A week where every day can be told apart from every other day is a week people remember living.

A moveBefore the week starts, pick one weekday as a pod and give it a rule the other four don't have — no meetings, a standing shared lunch, five minutes of storytelling at the open.
A moveAt your weekly check-in, ask 'what happened on Tuesday?' before you ask 'what happened this week?' — make people locate the memory on a specific day.
A moveAssign a rotating 'keeper' each week whose only job is to stop that day's one difference from getting scheduled over.
A moveIf two days already feel identical, cancel a meeting instead of adding a new ritual — subtraction counts as marking a day.
A moveAfter three weeks, test it: can the pod say what day something happened without checking a calendar? If yes, the sameness is cracked.
