Why does my phone talk more than we do?

Your phone speaks more than ten voices a day. Each one interrupts, and you decide, again and again, whether to answer. You never chose this chorus. It arrived app by app, quietly, and you let it stay. A single ping is small. Ten make a flood. Water dripping on stone seems harmless too, until the stone is hollow. The phone was once a plain block, uncarved. Every app carved another notch into it, and no one asked if the carving was needed. This is not a willpower problem. It is an untouched settings menu. Do this alone and you will forget within a week. Do it with the people who share your work, and the change holds — because you made it visible to each other.

The idea is simple and needs little teaching; the hard part is doing the audit together and making it stick, so guidance leads.

What’s really going on

Ten notifications are not ten needs. Most are noise wearing the mask of urgency. The cup that stays full holds nothing new; the mind that answers every ping never rests. Do not fight each interruption alone. Sit with your pod, open the settings together, and close the doors that do not need to be open.
