Why haven't we become early risers, runners, readers, meditators?

You and your pod set out to become early risers, runners, meditators, and readers — all at once. Months later, none of it has stuck. That is not a discipline problem. It is a design problem. Think of willpower as a small sun, not an infinite one. Four new habits are four moons demanding its light at the same time. None gets enough to hold its own orbit. So all four drift. The fix is sequence, not less ambition. Choose one habit. Let your whole pod protect it until it runs on its own. Then, and only then, add the next.

The principle behind failed parallel habits is quick to teach; the harder, ongoing work is a group actually agreeing on one and holding the order — that is coaching.

What’s really going on

You have not failed at four habits. You have attempted four simultaneous orbits around one small sun — your willpower — and none had room to stabilize. Pick one. Let it become steady before you add the next. Sequence, not simultaneity, is the fix.

A moveAs a pod, vote right now on the ONE habit you build first — the other three go on a written waiting list.
A moveShrink that one habit to its smallest honest version: five minutes, not fifty; one page, not a chapter.
A moveCheck in with each other daily on that single habit only. Do not report on the other three.
A moveDo not add habit two until habit one runs two full weeks without anyone needing to remind anyone.
A moveWhen someone in the pod jumps ahead and starts a second habit early, name the pattern out loud, without blame, and bring them back to one.
