Why does no one respond to my resume?

You believe the resume is broken. It is not. The method is broken. You have been treating fifty different jobs as though they were one job, hoping volume will do the work that attention should do. This feels like effort because it takes time to send fifty resumes. But time spent is not the same as work well aimed. A hundred arrows fired at no target will hit nothing, no matter how tired your arm is afterward. The fix is not cleverness. It is narrowing. Fewer postings, more attention on each. This is within your control today — not someday, today.

The core insight — fit beats volume — is simple and stated once; most of the value is in doing the narrowing and rewriting work, so guidance leads.

What’s really going on

You are not unlucky. You are inefficient. Sending one document to fifty postings is not effort — it is avoidance dressed as effort. Each job is a different lock. You keep offering the same key. Choose three postings. Study them. Make your resume answer their words, not yours. That is the whole task.

🔒 What you’ll build togetherUnlock by starting
A moveStop sending resumes for one day. Pick only three postings you actually want.
A moveRead each posting twice. Write down the exact words they use for the skills they need.
A moveRewrite the top third of your resume for that one job, using their words, not your usual ones.
A moveFind one true, specific story that proves you did what they need. Put it first, not buried.
A moveBefore you send it, say out loud why you specifically fit this role. If you cannot say it in one sentence, you are not ready to send it.

  • You know exactly why you fit before you hit send, instead of hoping
  • Each application takes longer, but none of them are wasted effort
