Should our team fear AI or pretend it doesn't matter?

Some of you say AI writing is a toy, nothing to worry about. Others lie awake certain it will replace the work you do. Both of you are talking about the same tool and neither of you has looked at it plainly. This is not a debate about the future. It is a refusal to sit with an uncomfortable present. The tool exists now. It writes drafts, summaries, code, letters. Your team has not yet decided, together, what that means for the work you actually do each day. You cannot control what the tool becomes. You can control what your team decides to do with it this week. That decision is available to you right now, and no one is making it for you.
