Why do I have 30 tabs open and nothing finished?

Look at your screen right now. Count the tabs. Now ask someone on your team to count theirs. Somewhere between twelve and forty, most people stop counting — not because the number is fine, but because it is embarrassing. Each tab is a small promise: I will come back to this. Most will not be kept. A team with a hundred open tabs between them is not a team with a hundred projects. It is a team that has forgotten how to finish, together, out loud. The clutter is not on the screen. It is in the mind. The screen only shows what was already true.

What’s really going on

A river cut into thirty channels has no current in any of them. Your tabs are not the problem — they are the shadow of an unmade choice, made over and over. You do not need a better system. You need to close one, finish one, and let the rest go quiet.

A moveOnce a week, share your screen with your pod. Open each tab and say, out loud, what it is for. Naming a tab is often enough to close it.
A moveFor every tab, ask one question: would I open this again if it were closed? If no, close it. Do not bookmark it — a saved tab is a hiding place wearing the coat of a plan.
A moveFind the one tab that is your real, current work. Drag it into its own window, alone. Stay there until it is finished or truly stuck. Only then return to the pile.
A moveMake a pod rule: any tab open more than three days gets named in your shared channel — what it is, why it stays, when it closes. A tab no one can explain, the group closes together.
A moveWhen you finish something real, tell your pod before opening the next tab. Let finishing be seen. A private finish is half a finish.
